Aloha mai kākou!
Many of our students in Hawaii live in an area that is perfect for growing fruit, vegetables, and native Hawaiian plants, yet do not know how to grow their own food nor have seen the growing process.
The students will attend to growing food and native Hawaiian plants in the classroom, and watch their food grow in a safe and sustainable environment every school day. The food that the students grow will be eaten by them in our school cafeteria.
Give a child a papaya and they'll eat for a day. Teach them to grow a papaya and they will eat for a lifetime.
