All students do not learn the same way. With the listening center, the audible learners will feel more successful as they are able to not only see the words but hear the words being read. After students hear the story, then they are able to improve fluency. It helps them focus on the sounds of words read without interruption and provides a model of fluent reading. Audio books also give them an important introduction to listening — a skill that they must master in order to become better readers. This center will be used daily to help students become confident readers.
