My young students are very tactile, driven by their senses, and inspired by both their innate curiosity and by the enthusiasm of their teacher.
I believe in hands-on learning! I want my students to touch and see the ideas that we talk about. I want their education to include more than just worksheets. I want them to explore, question, theorize, make connections, and build a mental framework about the world around them.
The magnetic design learning center will allow my students to explore letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. This center will boost students' confidence when they can pick out a letter they know and they can put it on the board. It will stretch their brains when they find a letter they don't know and they have to ask about it.
The heavy-duty bookstand will allow me to display more books in my reading center. The way this bookstand is built makes it is easy for students to see the bright and interesting covers. It allows them to more quickly select a book that is enticing to them, which could ultimately foster a love for prereading and reading.
