My goal is for students to have accessible texts within a range of reading levels that represent our variety of students and cultures not only in our classroom and school, but also have the opportunity to read about places and people we are not familiar with.
These books will be all about student choice and representation. Right now our library is mostly filled with books that represent only one population within our classroom. I want to change that. My students and all students should see themselves represented in text and see other cultures and people that are different from them. We can go beyond the walls of our classroom through the lens of books.
