Aloha! Our 5th-grade classroom thrives on hands-on learning, both in F4A and our outdoor space, the IPES Orchard. Students connect science, math, reading, and culture to the land through real-world projects.
From studying Hawai‘i’s native plants to designing sustainable tree-planting plans, students think critically by observing ecosystems, creating nature-inspired poetry and art, and exploring Earth’s systems. Whether making lei for Lei Day, conducting kilo (deep observations), or planning a Native Out Planting Event, they engage in meaningful, place-based learning.
