For my students, writing is the most difficult skill to be mastered before they can successfully exit the English Language Learners Program. If you have ever tried to write in a foreign language, you understand their struggle. Even so, each day they enter my classroom, and are ready for the challenge. They are bright and creative, hard working, and diligently to sharpen their writing skills.
Pencils, erasers, and crayons are necessary tools that will be used to practice their writing skills, and thus help them strengthen their individual voices. They love to express themselves, and write their own American stories!
