These materials will help students make abstract concepts tangible so that students apply them to life in the real world. Grade 2 students make huge gains in their understanding when they are able to move or manipulate an object such as a 100s chart. To cover some numbers can be very confusing for students initially. If they are able to cover and reveal numbers (that don't move), this understanding of numbers deeps.
"I do, we do, you do" is a valuable teaching strategy. These teaching supplies will allow me to be thorough and clear during the "I do, we do" part so that students can be successful for the independent practice of "you do".
