Pop Its are a new toy fad that have captivated the attention of children of all ages. They are a sensory stress relief toy that is intended to help autistic students or students with other sensory issues. In my classroom they will serve as an incentive to be played with during fun centers time on Fun Thursdays, an opportunity for stress relief in special cases, and they will also be used as a tool to teach concepts such as counting, adding, and mapping sounds in words. These will be a great way to close some of the gaps that students are entering first grade with and will help motivate students in a fun and positive way.
