Integrating art into the curriculum will engage students in learning through children's literature, writing, math, science, social studies, and other content areas. Using art will help to make learning fun as they use their creativity to express their ideas and feelings. Students will create drawings, sock puppets, flower arrangement vases, cards for giving, and other pieces of art using different materials. They will learn how to collage, watercolor, paint, and draw. We will also learn from artists and illustrators as we look at children's literature to examine examples of art. As we come back to school with in-person learning, our 1st graders will have the opportunity to have fun through art. This is going to be a remarkable year and a fresh start to learning with all of these art materials.
