I use Project-Based Learning in my Science classroom. Students are given a challenge that they have to work with their teams to figure out. For example, "What is a safer vehicle, a truck or a car?" After they build their projects, they present their findings as a team. These projects depend on research that requires technology. Students need devices on a daily basis in my class for this project research as well as for running science simulations and collaborating using online apps. Student presentations are also made digitally using slides, screenshots, and videos. Unfortunately, many students have living situations in which instability contributes to them showing up without their devices or without their chargers. These Android Tablets will be made available to students who need to borrow them for the day because they were unable to bring their own. This will help to ensure equity and inclusion amongst my students by keeping them from falling behind in their work and letting their teams down. All projects are based on NGSS standards. We design experiments to show conservation of mass & energy, Newton's 2nd law, the famous "egg drop" and more!
