COVID-19 has drastically changed our way of living. We've had to make adjustments on a global scale and the classroom is no exception. Long gone are the days of communal class supplies; it's vital for the safety of the students that we try to keep their belongings as separate as possible. As mentioned previously, many families have financial struggles that limit the amount of school supplies they are able to purchase for their students. As their teacher, I wanted to ensure that I had enough of the necessary supplies to ensure success for all of my students. I teach two classrooms of students ELA and Math. I want their focus to be on the work in front of them and not about whether or not they have the supplies to actually get the work done, keep track of assignments, etc. As a teacher who has gone through a lot of transitions and changes in my short four year career, it's been hard for me to accumulate and keep supplies. This year, I will be teaching in a brand new grade and would love a fresh start; not for my own needs, but for the needs of my classes.
