Students will first study ancient Greece, and the cultural significance it plays in the creation of the Olympics. They will then learn about the history of the Olympics-both ancient and modern, and conduct research on many of the different athletes, sports and countries. Once they have learned about all of these things, they will then (hopefully) be able to participate in their very own class Olympics!
By donating to this project, you will be giving my students the opportunity to experience all that the Olympic games have to offer: sportsmanship, competitive spirit, pride, along with many other important lessons. Some of the items I have requested include: soccer cones, stop watches, sports vests, batons, jump ropes, and medals.
Each team will get to choose a country of their choice to represent, and decide amongst themselves who will compete in the various events. The learning, and memories that are made by participating in these Olympic games will last a lifetime. “Citius, Altius, Fortius”
