I've had flexible seating in the past, but most of my seating options were second-hand, almost-already-broken pieces. I'd like to provide clean, comfortable seating options. Two years ago, we used a rocking papasan as the "reward chair" for our GLO-ing student of the week or Dolphin of the Month. I'd like to expand that to two students being rewarded for following through on their goals and sitting on a "throne." I want students to feel as at ease, safe, and welcome as possible. I've used essential oil blends in the past to help students focus, stay calm, be positive, etc. and have had positive results. However, I never made it part of the daily atmosphere, just on special occasions. I'd like them to have this homey atmosphere that doesn't just smell of hand sanitizer and clorox wipes. I also want to focus on a growth mindset and positivity of mind and spirit. I'm hoping for a cohesive, classroom look that makes the classroom a family and pushes them to do their best.
