Students will enjoy reading books at their Lexile level to extend the lesson being taught. Students will also be able to take books home through a check out system from our classroom library. My scholars mainly enjoy non-fiction books as they develop text-to-self connections. Making these connections are crucial to becoming comprehensive and literate readers as 6th graders. My hope is to cultivate an environment where scholars want to explore and develop good habits of reading. Covid-19 has changed our learning but I want my babies to know that reading is achievable!
