These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students go to relax and get lost in a good story-I read on the carpet to them, they read with partners, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. Many of my books go home so students can enjoy them with their families. I have many first generation students who are excited to go home and read to their parents or siblings to help everyone develop their reading skills.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level and there will be new choices for class read aloud . There are three reading pillows on the list for my students to be able to snuggle in our reading corner and get lost in their book without having to sit on the floor or a plastic chair.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown such enthusiasm for reading and these books will keep them excited and hooked on reading.
