This school year students will be required to return to in person instruction. However, they will be unable to share materials as they previously had. Using dry erase boards will grant my students a different way of solving math problems and have them be highly engaged. Students love to use the white board and markers as opposed to paper and pencil. The use of white boards will allow them to use a variety of markers which they can use to highlight important concepts.
The use of dry erase boards will allow students to erase mistakes and learn from them in a safe learning environment. The constant use of an eraser on a piece of paper causes tears which adds to student's frustration. For some students Math is a subject which many shy away from, but if we give them a fun way to solve problems they will be more willing to participate. As a teacher I will be able to do a quick assessment and make adjustments to my teaching in order to help them understand skills being taught.
