Children learn through games these materials will help students build and apply phonics skills. This is especially important for struggling readers. Having games will engage reluctant readers to explore words in a non-threatening fun way. Phonics games also help students map sounds. This skill supports decoding and spelling skills.
Games provide students the opportunity to become involved with reading by being able to interact with the materials through touch as well as seeing and hearing words, making it a multi-sensory experience. These phonics supports will benefit both the younger children involved in intervention as well as older students who are still missing foundational phonic skills.
