Our state's vision for public schools is to support student academic learning loss and SEL. Over the years, I have used personal funds or diy materials for my classroom. This is my first project on Ðǿմ«Ã½.
As students return to in-person instruction, I hope to re-establish and promote a safe and supportive learning environment. Sensory items such as the diffuser, noise cancelling headphones, liquid motion timers, and chime bell will be used to create a calm and inviting work space.
To motivate my students and support retention of academic skills, I will be using hands on materials such as the pop it hundreds frame to practice multiplication and division in a fun and engaging way. Other fidget items such as the lighted spinners will be used to create individualized fidget boxes for each student to allow for self initiated mini brain breaks between tasks.
In addition to prepare my 5th graders for the Middle School, I hope to promote self awareness and monitoring of their emotions using the squeeze balls as an outlet for self regulation.
Thank you for your consideration of my project! Mahalo!
