I selected items that will help my young students interact with their environment at school, which will help them learn necessary skills and be engaging, relaxing, and enjoyable.
I carefully selected these items for my specific students to address their sensory and physical activity needs. I selected the outdoor toys to play with together on our large grassy play field when we need a break from the classroom. I selected the water and sand tables to have right outside my classroom so that the children can have another outdoor break that also engages their need to experience the environment in a sensual way. I choose the other sensory items to help my students engage in the environment through touch and texture, which is not only satisfying and relaxing, but also aids in language acquisition.
