It is important that students are given multiple means of expression when learning. As a teacher, I try my best to give my students the option to express their thoughts to the class in different ways. It is not uncommon for us to have turn and talks or group discussions, but written expressions opportunities have been difficult to provide.
By providing my classroom with whiteboards you are providing students with a choice of how to use their voice. Whiteboards will help the students who feel too timid to talk a chance to write their ideas down. It can be a way of communicating with me, their peers, or anyone in the class.
