I have a Quarterly reward system where students can earn "Bucks" every time they show one of the Six Pillars of Character by completing their homework, participation in classroom activities or team bonding activities. By the end of the quarter students turn in their Earned Bucks for prizes and activities. The more Bucks students earned, the more they can "purchase" and participate in. This resembles real life by teaching students when you work hard you can earn money to play at the end. This has benefited both intrinsic and extrinsic motivators to work. It has also helped improve and focus on all students needs positively.
Usually we have small fundraiser activities to offset the costs of purchasing items for the students to choose as their Bucks rewards. As I can spend about $200 per Quarter on snacks and prizes. But due to COVID, it is difficult to ask the students to go out and fundraise. These items would be wonderful snack incentives as well as much needed classroom supplies the students can earn with their Bucks.
