Support Ms. Wimberly's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
An interactive notebook is a place where students can take information supplied from the teacher and creatively merge it with their own thinking. It's a more interactive way to take notes. Interactive notebooks allow students to stop and interact with the new information instead of just copying down notes. We are drawing, coloring, cutting, gluing, organizing, arranging, synthesizing information, thinking critically and most important, we are engaged in learning. Interactive notebooks allow students to organize the class notes in a meaningful and personalized manner. Interactive notebooks are my students' "go to" resource. They can refer back to any skill or concepts previously learned for studying for quizzes and exams. Basically, studying made fun and easy.
No special hardware required! The concept is simple. By working with the students to create the interactive notebook, we will be utilizing multi-modalities to create a process for them to organize their thoughts while simultaneously teaching important study skills without actually teaching them to study. This is a fun and engaging way to learn notetaking while building effective study habits.
This notebook is a way for students to creatively build a portfolio that allows them to track growth throughout the year. Students will learn to organize and synthesize their thoughts, develop study habits, increase knowledge and their ability to assimilate information will greatly improve. Let the fun begin!
I would like to get two Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to assist me with this endeavor. The gift cards will be used to purchase engaging rigorous curriculum resources to support my middle students in math and reading. The supplemental resources from Teachers Pay Teachers is not only a way to support the students, but teachers as well.
