Our classroom is open air and breezy, which is excellent for ventilation and will help the students be safe during the pandemic. However, this also makes our classroom quite noisy. Additionally, we will all be wearing masks and are spaced out as far as possible, so hearing one another is challenging. These individual voice amplifiers will allow students to be heard during class without sharing microphones, taking off their masks, or shouting, all in the interest of reducing the chance of transmission of the virus. Without these devices, the benefits of in-person learning will be diminished by an inability to collaborate.
