One of the biggest challenges with distance learning has been the ability to practice the physical use of pencil and paper. Even though our world has become increasingly technology-oriented, there is still something especially meaningful about getting kids to physically write.
Many of my rising second graders have spent the last 18 months learning exclusively from home without the materials or consistent opportunities to practice physically writing and spelling. Our kids are still learning about proper letter formation, spelling, sentence structure, and how to transfer their ideas from their minds to paper. The materials I have selected will support my students as they begin their journey to becoming writers. I am asking for pencils, pencil grips, and journals that are lined for primary students to practice their writing, along with space for students to illustrate. I am also requesting a few additional classroom items to help support them as illustrators of their work and ideas!
