Quality Teaching Despite Pandemic is a project that aims to improve teaching pre-algebra 8 lessons virtually or face to face. Teaching Pre-Algebra is very challenging specially showing solutions steps by steps and drawing graphs, scenarios or 3-D shapes. With the use of iPad in teaching, the lessons can be more precise, the solutions can be presented better and more interaction can be provided. With the changing needs in teaching, an iPad and other technology is a must have. Students can also use the technology in face to face teaching and learning process.
M3 Topic 1: In this topic, students increase the range of one-variable linear equations they can solve.
Students solve equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign. They review and learn strategies, including the use of properties of arithmetic, to efficiently solve equations with rational number coefficients. Students develop an understanding of the conditions that lead to equations with one solution, no solution, or infinite solutions.
8.EE.C.7
Solve linear equations in one variable.
8.EE.C.7b
Solve linear equations with rational number coefficients, including equations whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms.
