I have an Apple TV provided by our school district. It's been nice to connect it to my computer and show slides. But, what I really want is to give kids an opportunity to show work, annotate books, video tape, and review material in a more accessible, visual, kinesthetic, and auditory way.
For example, it's one thing to say highlight the heading in order to help you know the main idea of the passage. It's another to hand the iPad and pen over to kids (especially those with lower focus ability) and have them show the class in real time their thinking, strategies, and ideas in all subject areas! That is just the beginning. Kids would be able to take pictures, videos, and have access to learning apps that will be helpful for all students to see on the big screen!
