These book kits will give students the opportunity to grow in reading comprehension and fluency while reading engaging and culturally responsive literature. Each kit will include 6 copies of a novel, writing journals, art supplies, and discussion questions. Students will have the opportunity to discuss relevant social justice issues from these award-winning novels through artistic expression, journaling, lively group discussion, and community education projects. Through this experience, my students will also learn to be more socially aware members of their community that advocate for and improve the community around them.

About my class
