Going into my 3rd year as a high school therapist, I want to increase student adjustment after having gone through a year in distance learning by fostering and promoting their social and emotional well-being. Many of my students have experienced hardships over the last year, and are now expected to fully engage in a school setting.
The items I have requested will increase comfort in my office as we discuss trauma and process difficult feelings, as well as develop necessary coping skills to fully engage in the classroom. The items range from snacks to provide nutrition, coloring utensils to allow difficult conversations to flow easier, and seating to provide comfort. By addressing student's mental health needs, we are able to cultivate coping skills that could be used in various settings.
