Students become better readers when they actually spend time reading. It is important to me to have a classroom that celebrates books and reading, and this obviously includes having a well-stocked classroom library. The best classroom libraries are filled with books like the ones I have chosen; books that are high-interest and represent diverse perspectives and a variety of genres. These books will open students up to new perspectives and ideas, improve their reading ability, and provide an incredible foundation to my first-ever classroom library. Students who get to choose what they read and who like what they read, are more likely to continue reading in the future. The readers of today will become the leaders of tomorrow.
