Students learn when they are engaged. Part of engagement is tactile and kinesthetic learning. Through these manipulative students can be intentional in their learning. They can observe through manipulative. The discussions will flourish with their peers which increases academic language, different observations and points of view, analysis and synthesizing information, and encouraging and uplifting each other in the process of educational growth. The children become immersed in this fun experience while also increasing leaps and bounds academically. I want to build an educational environment where elation and ebullience are present through the hands-on learning of my 25 fifth-grade students.
