When we think of yoga, we automatically assume the benefits it provides for adults. However, extenseive research shows that yoga has tremendous benfits for children in classroom settings. Yoga practice encourages mindfulness, focus, and strength.
Through yoga practice in my Kindergarten classroom students can improve their ability to regulate their emotions, build flexibility and coordination, and practice mindfulness in a safe space. The yoga mats I am requesting will be used as a tool for students to practice yoga comfortably. In addition to the above mentioned benefits students will be able to relieve anxiety as we begin our day together and continue building our classroom community.
