The classroom laptops will be used by students to discover, learn and develop their civic engagement. Whether in small groups, or independent learning time, students will have the opportunity to visit important governmental websites such as the National Archives, congress.gov, whitehouse.gov, c-span.org, and the National Library of Congress, among others.
Additionally, classroom laptops will allow my students to engage in hands-on project-based learning by participating with PenPal Schools (and connect with students from over 150 countries); attend the Constitutional Exchanges, and participate in online forums and projects specifically designed to increase civic understanding.
Overall, having access to the laptops in our classroom will provide all of my students the opportunity to gather important information, learn important research skills needed to be informed citizens, and showcase their voice through various virtual educational opportunities.
