Through the use of the yoga mats, my students will have their own space to exercise, take a rest, and a spot for self reflection or calming down after a conflict or problem. The mats will provide a safe and sanitary area for each individual student to learn, reflect, and rest on the floor.
Young students in the classroom full day often need a place to take a break, and rest their brains from so much stimulus. These mats will be softer than the classroom floor and easily cleaned and stored for each students personal daily use. In the public Transitional Kindergarten classroom their are no funds to provide the students with cots or nap mats so the yoga mats can be used to serve as a nap mat, even if we are just resting our brains for a few minutes.
