By having a class set of ukeleles, my students will be able to engage in a ukelele unit where they can learn to play a string instrument! I teach Kinder-5th grade students and they would all benefit from playing. Our wonderful Kinder-3rd grade musicians will learn to strum a simple pattern. Our 4th/5th grade students could even have a POP ukelele concert for their parents and friends! It is vital for our students to engage in meaningful musical experiences. By inspiring them through our music room, we can encourage them to continue being musical even after they leave to middle school. This project could help inspire those experiences.
