Reading is an essential and daily skill we work on in our classroom. We read together as a whole class, in small groups, and independently. Outside of school provided leveled books, I do not have many alternatives to offer my students to read.
These book collections will allow my students choices in what they are reading, and will help them strengthen their literacy skills.
Being able to organize the books in an kid friendly way (the bins) and providing alternative seating (the flex-space wobble cushions) will encourage them to read and grow their minds.
The games will be available during our mornings for choice time, as well as for early finishers and will allow them to practice new skills in a different and fun way.
