Our school library is adapting and changing to meet the growing needs of today's students as it embraces both traditional and digital media. Our vision is to create a media center that not only supports literacy but seeks to promote learning and obtaining information through a variety of resources.
The media center will aid teachers in creating an engaging environment that provides extensive opportunities for the exploration of content in all subject areas.
In order to do this, we need to update our collection to contain selections that pique the interest of today's students. To use our space more effectively, we wish to incorporate flexible seating and learning zones throughout the media center. Through the use of digital technology and printed materials, we will be able to teach students to make mindful media choices and become good digital citizens as well as support core standards and enhance social/emotional learning through literacy.
