The use of rugs is a daily activity for students in Room 19. Each morning we begin our class with a Community Circle to make sure each student feels heard, seen, and engaged from the very start of the day!
Gathering on the rug is our opportunity to sit together and be equals, where we can hear each other's voices and share what is in our hearts and on our minds. The rug is a place of trust, respect, honesty, and family.
Room 19 is a place of collaboration, and working together in small groups throughout the rooms requires being comfortable physically. With wood floors, rugs are an important addition to our class to help provide students a place to gather together around the room.
