The mirrors will be used daily in small group reading interventions! Our students practice making sounds with their mouths while they look in the mirror. They will use the chips to show how many syllables or sounds are in a word as well as the number of words in a sentence as they progress!
This is a skill that will solidify sound/letter correspondence that is required for life long reading ability.
All of these materials together will help improve our students letter recognition, sounds symbols, blending ability and help them become proficient readers!
We need page protectors, baggies, red and blue counting chips, colorful counting chips and mirrors for the students we are working with.
By donating to our project, you will help our students increase their reading ability along with their vocabulary, comprehension and writing skills.
We are so excited to implement this program and make a difference in our students lives! Based on research we have discovered these students have many holes in their learning that need to be filled before they can become proficient readers.
