This year, we will have a heavy focus on social-emotional learning. Reading can help students' social-emotional and behavioral development. Children can learn new skills and relate to others' experiences through books.
It is is essential for children to grow up with an awareness of illnesses, disabilities, races, cultures, etc. I want to create a diverse social-emotional library that EVERY student can relate to. I want all to feel represented. These books will be available for all students and teachers in the school to use. In addition, I will personally use them for classroom counseling lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling.
