Being in a public school, we rarely get new materials unless teachers buy it. We have a limited budget from the school district and use those for some of the consumable materials (art supplies). When I came into this classroom, there were a lot of toys but you can tell that some of them have been around for years and years. There are some learning manipulatives that are older and don't really capture the attention of the students now.
These new materials will allow the manipulatives and supplies to be rotated to keep the students engaged in their learning. These will be used during small group, whole group, and free choice. These materials will be rotated in the classroom and provide them with different learning strategies. There are alphabet resources for them to learn their letters and letter sounds. There are various STEM resources to put in the science area for senses and for building.
