Through the use of flexible seating, students increase their ability to focus, stay energized, and make choices that support their individuality. Not every student is the same, so the 21st century classroom needs to be able to support this growing diversity of student needs. Flexible seating allows the classroom to transform into one that students can feel supported and trusted to make decisions.
When students can choose their seating and placement in the classroom, their work outcome and engagement increases immensely. The products that I have chosen will increase the options of flexible seating that students have access to in the classroom. The ball seating will improve students posture and exercise while allowing students to expel excess energy. The floor seats will provide a comfortable alternative to sitting on the tile floor while engaging in hands-on math games, manipulating letter tiles, and much more.
The option of choice empowers students and allows them to make decisions that are in tune with what helps them learn best. Students not only learn more about themselves, but also know that they are in charge of their body and have the ability to trust themselves. Help us grow into empowered, innovative thinkers!
