My students are at an ALC, or an alternative school. For whatever reason they have, they could not function in a "normal" high school, and they have found a home with us. Most of my students come from very poor families, with many problems. Most are on free and reduced lunches, a few are even homeless. The only safe and warm place for them is at school. We are trying our best to give these kids the education they need to get out of their situation, to make something of themselves, and to be productive citizens.
