With this grant, students will get 4 Scholastic News magazines every month until the end of the school year. We will read these in class each week and explore the activities that come along with each issue. At home and at school, students will be able to explore the magazine online, browse past issues and challenge themselves with Scholastic News Games. Along with Scholastic News, students will receive a monthly Scholastic Science Spin which features fun and interesting non-fiction texts. Students will be able to complete hands-on experiments that correlate to each topic.
My students love exploring new and engaging reading books and magazines. As a first-year teacher, I have a limited classroom library which we hope to grow throughout the year. With Scholastic and Ðǿմ«Ã½, I am able to quickly add books to our library with sets of books including a Kindness Library Book set, 1st Grade Must Haves set, STEAM set, and PreK-1 Classic Set. These books will allow readers of all abilities to explore and read books of their choice!
