All materials purchased for my classroom will allow for greater variety for my scholars. All books were chosen to align with a student's likes. The books are also various levels in AR and Lexile level, allowing for a read that will empower and challenge them. The furniture will create and inviting and comfortable place for my scholars to read or be read to. Bins will allow for better cataloging of books for easier book selection.
83% of students ages 6-17 said that being read to was something they either loved or liked a lot. (Scholastic's 2019 "Kids & Family Reading Report") With more exposure to words and reading my scholars will be more inclined to like and want to read.
