Flexible seating is the practice of allowing and providing many seating options for students. This means students get a choice of the kind of learning space that works best for them. This type of seating allows students to quickly and easily pair up, work in small groups or discuss as a whole class. Working collaboratively is something students will have to do as they continue through their education and in the real world. It is important for students to realize and understand what type of seating arrangement works best for them, a skill that will be useful now and in the future, especially if working independently in and out of the classroom. Flexible seating is a great outlet for students with anxiety or ADHD and helps students keep their focus on the tasks in front of them.
