I am asking for supplies that will help me transform my room into a place where all of my students are able to focus and self-regulate in a calm environment. My students have not been in a traditional classroom for over a year and are behind grade level in their subjects. The anxiety and pressure of their learning loss is felt by the students themselves, and they are overwhelmed.
Wobble stools, noise blocking headphones, and bouncy bands will help my students have the tools to regulate their learning and empower them to advocate for their learning needs.
Social emotional health is the key to help students succeed in school. All of the supplies I am asking for will help students feel safe and secure in my classroom so that they are able to focus on their learning. Picture students working around the classroom, being able to take a break in our cozy corner for some deep breaths, and returning to their wobble stool at their desk where they are able to move as they work.
