These books will allow me to create classroom sets of books that can enhance the continue the reading rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. Any chance they get to check-out a book from my library, they take it. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these classroom sets of books have been chosen with my students in mind. I took into consideration their interest and reading levels to pick books that will provide the most benefit to them!
Studies have shown that when students are not reading at grade level by third grade, there can be detrimental effects that occur. With these new books, we as a class can build up our reading stamina, vocabulary, and strengthen our comprehension skills. These books will expose my not only my ELL students to rich grade-level content that they need but also my English only students. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. I want my students to grow not only as scholars but as readers. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with reading!
