As a first-year performing arts teacher at two schools, my goal is to help students gain creative skills and confidence through the arts. In theatre, I want to provide my students opportunities to act out various scripts. I want to build my younger students' rhythmic skills through the use of a parachute. All of these materials will be used across both schools for students TK-5th grade.
By donating to this project, you will not only help me build my inventory as a first-year teacher but also, enhance each student's imagination and encourage exploration of the performing arts. In terms of supplies, I am requesting storage bins to be used to sort different musical instruments, dot markers to make sure the younger students stay socially distanced, and a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers so I can reference prewritten scripts and musical educational activities.
The biggest item I am in need of is a piano keyboard. This keyboard will be a great resource as it would allow me to practice and lesson plan at home. In addition, it will benefit the students because I will be able to play live music with them instead of relying on recordings. Since a keyboard is easy to transport, I can bring the keyboard into various performance spaces that a large piano would not fit in.
Thank you so much for your willingness to bring the performing arts to elementary school students.
