Over the years I have been listening to my students who continuously request for more diverse and relatable literature. I have also noticed how reluctant my students are to engage in reading, so this year I will be starting First Chapter Fridays!
These books will allow them the opportunity to be exposed to diverse literature and increase their interest in reading books! Each Friday students will have the chance to hear the first chapter of each book from this project, and will have the chance to sign them out from our classroom library! I am excited to see students get involved in discussing books that they can connect to and increase their reading comprehension and interest!
