These materials will be used to give the students in my classroom the ability to choose a seating option that allows movement or change from the typical desk and chair/table that they are used to seeing a classroom. They won't be confined to one seat or even the same seat all day and they can choose a flexible seating option that allows them to best focus.
Not all students learn the same way and some students have never had to sit in those hard school chairs before. They may get very uncomfortable and fidgety throughout the day which cause issues with being able to pay attention and therefore learn. Flexible seating is the opposite of those hard, uncomfortable chairs but more importantly, it's a choice that the students are given. They get to choose and that gives them a sense of independence and helps them feel comfortable so they can learn!
